press release New CD from Bajkal Records: terje winther - trespasser Terje Winther is a well established composer and synthesizer musician finally to release his debut solo CD. Terje Winther makes music with analog modular synthesizers. In other words: real craftmanship in wood, metal, analog components and heated solder. These instruments are large electronic systems demanding interconnection of different modules in order to create sounds. Everything is completely open without any preprogrammed patches or sounds. Is it only by combining musical and electronical improvisation that the music is realised. ÇTrespasserÈ is improvised, sequencer-based music with a clear influence from Jean-Michel Jarre and the Berlin school of electronic music with names like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Ash Ra Temple. Terje Winther has performed at several festivals like the Oslo Synth Festival and at art exhibitions and vernissages, and he has contributed music on many CDs and compilations. The music on ÇtrespasserÈ has a vivid expression filled with imaginative sounds, lucid rythms and reminiscenses of things both familiar and unknown. This is music with roots in the 1970s, when many bands and musicians wandered around in the corners of rock, making music in the unknown region between electronic noise and the minimalistic riffs of rock.
